A qualified nurse or EMT is usually on duty at all times during the summer season. This is not mandated by state law; however, Windermere makes every effort to provide this service.
All guests under age 18 (who are not accompanied by their parents) must have a completed official >Windermere Medical Release Form, given to Business Services upon arrival. Windermere staff cannot provide first aid or nursery service to guests who have not provided the required medical release form. In this case, Windermere can only assist with life threatening emergencies.
Coin-operated facilities are located in the motel and RV park.
Within 15 minutes of Windermere is Ha Ha Tonka State Park with its hiking trails, sinkholes, a natural bridge, and ruins of a turn-of-the-century stone castle. Also in the area are many quality golf courses, horseback riding, and the unique and interesting Bridal Cave.
Items that are found in the buildings or on the grounds are placed in lost-and-found. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 1-800-346-2215, ext. 2612 concerning lost items.
Free internet access is available to Windermere's guests at five locations on campus:
- Dining Hall
- Gift Shop and Snack Shop
- Fireside Room
- Lake View Lodge
Alcohol / Drugs
Use or possession of alcoholic beverages and controlled substances without a prescription are forbidden. Guests in non-compliance will be asked to leave, will forfeit any right to refund, and may jeopardize the invitation of their group to return to Windermere.
Damage to Windermere Property
Any damage such as graffiti, broken beds, broken windows, damage to doors, walls, floors, or furnishings, etc. will be billed to your group. Please be sure to tell your group members to be careful. Our experience in camping has led us to conclude that shaving cream (for non shavers), silly string, glue, glitter, duct tape, and items along these lines are not needed for camping. Sponsors are encouraged to have a "suitcase check" prior to leaving for Windermere and remove items that could cause your group to receive a bill after your visit.
Firearms / Fireworks
Possession of firearms and fireworks of any nature are forbidden.
Absolutely no pets are allowed on the grounds, except within the RV Park boundaries. Guests having pets outside these boundaries are financially responsible for all damages and/or excessive cleaning fees to property in accordance with our current policies and will be asked to take their pets off site or vacate Windermere grounds.
Several area kennels are available for boarding your pets. Locations and phone numbers are available at the Registration office.
Rollerblades / Skateboards
Rollerblades are not allowed on the part of campus by the offices, dining hall, snack shop, and gift shop due to the high traffic in the area. Rollerblades may be used only across the bridge on the pool side / Wilderness Creek side of the lake. Full pads and helmet must be worn.
Skateboards, push or kick scooters, and roller skates are not allowed.
