which yields it’s fruit in season

The Psalmist uses the picture of a tree to illustrate what sustained fruitfulness looks like.
When you look at a grove of trees like we have at Windermere, you do not see activity. What you do see is productivity. That happens underground and out of sight. The tree is all about “roots and fruits.”
The Bible doesn’t call people to activity. The Bible makes it clear we are to be about deeper roots and lasting fruits. Jesus says “apart from Me, you can do nothing.” See John 15. One of the good things about camp is this – you get to step away from the world and take an inventory of your life. At camp you can ask yourself, “is my life marked by what I am doing (activity) or is it marked by productivity?”
