Dear Windermere Friends,
Churches, groups and families are always looking for a great event venue. When I served in the local church I was always on the lookout. I was going through some things and came across a great article by a Christian author from Kentucky. He was writing in regard to selecting a good Christian campground for your next event. It occurred to me that many folks would appreciate some tips on selecting a great Christian venue for your next event. I consider these 4 tips the most crucial. I pray you find them helpful.
Listen to the testimonies of long time guests.
The one thing I kept hearing from people when I arrive in Missouri is this – “Oh, Windermere is a very special place… It was at Windermere where God really changed my heart and life… I became a Christian at Windermere.” A first hand testimony should mean something to event planners when looking for a campground. Start with some other churches in your association.
Visit the site for yourself.
Our sales team at Windermere probably gives 2-3 tours a month. We would love to host you for a night at our expenses and show you the most beautiful spot on the Lake of the Ozarks. It is good to take the actual drive your group will take and look at the beds, dining and recreation facilities. At the end of one of our most recent tours the student pastor and his associate grabbed a couple of Frisbees and played a round of disc golf before heading home.
Talk to the camp staff about values.
Our team at Windermere is amazing. Our values include the following – we are passionate about expecting God to change lives. We work hard to model a positive family and team spirit. We value that our service never rests; we put people first and all the while we exemplify a humble and grateful heart. We love being in the people business.
Ask about who is praying for the campground.
I am most pleased to tell folks looking for a campground that Windermere has a group of Ambassadors who love Windermere so much they volunteer their talent and treasure and most of all – they serve as our army of prayer warriors! Every board meeting at Windermere begins with a sincere prayer time. Weekly our team will gather for staff meeting and earnestly ask our Lord for favor and groups to trust us. We boldly ask God to change lives. Prayer is important at Windermere.
Help us spread the news about our student camp!
