This week we hosted the executive board of the Southern Baptist Camping Association. I have been asked to serve on their board. These folks are the movers and shakers in Southern Baptist Camping. In February 2019 we will host the SBCA Annual Meeting of about 200 members. It should be fun. Their website is www.sbccamping.org. Windermere needs to be a part of the family of Southern Baptist camps reaching people for the Kingdom.
“We use to say Windermere was the Ridgecrest and Glorieta of the Midwest.”
This encouragement made me want to snap my fingers and suddenly be the perfect place of their memories. Unfortunately it takes time. Especially for us. I do see a day when Windermere can return to the days of health and happiness that folks remember. However, I need a little more patience. Windermere is in ministry for the long term. My Pastor says this, “We over estimate what we can do in the short run and under estimate what we can do in the long run.”
“All right. Wait here a minute.”
Windermere is excited to be a vital part of Southern Baptist camping again. It is great to hear encouragement and great memories. But I am also excited about what God is doing to build a new and vibrant future! I told the SBCA members God is not finished here at Windermere.
4 Whenever I pray, I make my requests for all of you with joy, 5 for you have been my partners in spreading the Good News about Christ from the time you first heard it until now. 6 And I am certain that God,who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.
