Week 30 – The A, B, C’s of Windermere
This week is one of the busiest of the summer. I can’t tell you how exciting it is to see so much activity on our campus. It is a privileged to provide a Christian environment for God to change lives. Like Moses standing at the burning bush, I call Windermere “holy ground.”
Here are twenty six ways, Windermere can continue to be holy ground. I call it the Windermere A, B, C’s:
Aim – Windermere is about deepening a relationship with Christ.
Breakthrough – A time to change a person’s trajectory towards the Lord.
Community –Seeing new people and connecting with new friends.
Disengage – Matthew 6:6 talks about “shutting the door” Distractions are eliminated.
Encounter – Transformed lives come with an authentic encounter with God.
Glorifying God – This is the ultimate goal for all of life – including Windermere.
Habits – New habits can be formed at camp.
Identity – One of the most transformative discoveries is – how God made us unique.
Jesus – “they will call him Immanuel, which means ‘God is with us.’” Matt 1:23.
Knowledge – To know Jesus is eternal life, John 17:3.
Look – Windermere is a place to refocus and observe were God is working.
Marvel – Windermere is a place to discover God has been waiting for us to be still.
Nascent – We see 1,000 people yearly make a profession of faith. New birth is exciting.
Outdoor fun – Playing is a time to renew the spirit.
Prayer – There is nothing like an early morning time for prayer on the lake.
Quiet times – Windermere is a good place to study, memorize and read God’s word.
Retreat – Several times Jesus, went away from the crowd, to renew his strength.
Setting – It is always a pretty day at the lake.
Think – A casualty of busyness is when we have no time to think.
Unity – A group that plays together, stays together.
Veracity – There is no greater joy than seeing campers walking in truth, 3 John 4.
Worship – The worship at Windermere can nourish the weary soul.
Xpectations – The best camps expect God to show and are not surprised when He does.
Yearning – Windermere is a place where people yearn to get back to God.
Zip lines – Forty feet high and 2 minutes of screaming. Nothing like it.
I know by reading this blog, you are a friend of Windermere…pause now and ask the Lord’s favor for our ministry. Windermere is holy ground.
