Week 22 – Regret Means Opportunity
I once read a story about the mistakes that tattoo artist have made. It was pretty funny. One example – Never Forget God isint Finished with Me Yet or Regret Nohing. The number one reason people regret tattoos is poor execution.
As Windermere approaches another busy summer in just a few days, I am asking that all of our friends of Windermere remember us in your prayers. Starting next week there will be over 1,100 people on our campus. We will be stretched to the max. (By the way, if you want to volunteer we could sure use the help).
One thing I do not pray is this – “Lord help Windermere to minister with no regrets.”
That prayer indicates that there is no value in regrets. Nothing could be farther from the truth. I want the Lord to help us use our regrets. Rick Warren says this – “We are products of our past, but we don’t have to be prisoners of it.” Regrets provide opportunities for the future. Now that is a liberating thought!
Please pray that Windermere will benefit from our regrets. What could be the benefits of regret?
- We want to learn how to get better every week – some people fail and others learn
- We want to stay motivated to change – every week is an opportunity to get better and better
- We want to serve to glorify the Lord – the Lord is our moral compass
The Bible says it this way, “How blessed is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gains understanding. For its profit is better than the profit of silver, and its gain than fine gold.” Proverbs 3:13-14
Please pray for my senior leaders -Jackie Mathany, Director of Guest Relations and J D Hoogendoorn, Director of Operations. Please pray for our full time team – Amy Osborn Food Service Director, Edwin Borbe, Manager for Maintenance, Victoria Metscher, Manager for Housekeeping. Account managers Lindsay Evans and Scott Cunningham. Recreation managers David Hall and Tucker Seise. Maintenance associates Galen Markley and Lance Metscher. Also, pray for our part-time volunteer coordinator, Katie Brewer.
For the summer we will be bringing in 40-50 summer interns, part time people and volunteers. They all make our ministry that much better. Thank you to these great servants
This is an amazing team who boldly learns from the past and constantly makes the future better.
