Hello Windermere Friends,
This is the last week of our Prayer campaign for Windermere. Friends of Windermere have been so kind. I have been getting many notes of encouragement. And of course many have been praying specifically. Thank you so much.
Today I want us to pray about the fourth and final step in our Windermere strategy. Steps 1-3 we have covered in previous weeks. Windermere believes that our strategy begins with hospitality that leads to outdoor adventure which leads to authentic relationships. The fourth step in our strategy is – Biblical truth.
It is my observation after 30 years of ministry that, the people who live with God’s Word as their authority are the ones who are able to experience real joy and celebration in life’s good times and experience real peace and calm in life’s bad times.
For example, Psalm 119 talks about a man who knows what it means to hurt. In verse 92 we read these words, “If your instruction had not been my delight, I would have died in my affliction.” Scripture never leaves us with a bewildered look on our faces wondering about an issue. It provides the foundation for a healthy and real way forward.
Here at Windermere we love worship, prayer times, music and fellowship. All of these activities are an important part of the Christian life. But, it is the Word of God that is life changing. Looking again at Psalm 119: 98-100, we can see that Biblical truth gives us several benefits. We can become wiser v. 98, we can have more insight v. 99, and we canunderstand more, v. 100.
Biblical truth is the most reliable way to build a spiritual foundation in your life and to grow to maturity.
Have you heard about cattle farmers in Australia? Because of the enormous acreage in the Outback, cattle ranchers do not use fences to corral their cattle. (In the US we are familiar with the barbed wire fences on ranches). What Australians do is they place key watering holes in the middle of their land. What they have found is that cattle will never get too far away from the water in the center of the ranch. This is a great illustration for Biblical truth.
This is our passion: to create a Christian environment where Biblical truth is each participant’s watering hole, to keep them close to the Lord, so that when they leave our camp, they can continue to grow to maturity in Christ.
1. Pray that each participant in 2015 will know where they can find refreshment and nourishment in God’s word.
2. Pray that Windermere’s financial challenges can be met with glory to the Lord
3. Pray that souls may be saved at Windermere this summer!
